I recently moved to Adelaide to study a Master of Science in Public Policy and have already grown to love it here. There is so much to see and do, and I enjoy exploring the city鈥檚 numerous green spaces and beautiful historical buildings.

I am an avid reader, I love traveling and I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds!

Cameron Green
Australia.

Hey everyone! I鈥檓 Cameron, a local from Adelaide!

I am currently studying a Bachelor of International Relations and Arts at the University of Adelaide. I have previously lived in the United Kingdom working in a boarding school where I fell in love with interacting with different cultures. This experience drove me to study my Bachelor degree.

Outside of University, I love to play Australia Rules Football (AFL) and go running, but I will play just about any sport if I get the chance to. On top of this, I will take any opportunity to go out and meet new people. Everyone knows something I don鈥檛 know and I love listening to people talk about their past experiences!

As a 大象视频Adelaide Ambassador I look forward to meeting and speaking to all of you! Being a local I am more than happy to tell you about some cool places to visit and hear about how you鈥檙e finding Adelaide. Don鈥檛 be afraid to ask me any questions or come and say hi!

Chaoxiang (Trinity) Zhang
China.

Greetings, dear friends all over the world, you can simply call me Trinity as it is my English name. I am studying a Bachelor degree in media and linguistics at the University of Adelaide. My mother tongue is Chinese and Japanese is my second foreign language, and I understand a little bit of Spanish too. Thus, I hope to meet different friends from various cultures. My hobby is doing sports in my spare time. Skateboarding (the museum is a great spot for skating), swimming, Kendo, football and gym workouts are all my favourites.

After years of waiting, I finally arrived in Adelaide. I am glad to become 大象视频Adelaide Student Ambassador in 2022. It was a hard time learning offshore, but it gave me a lesson that I am glad to share. We should take our time out of study to do and learn meaningful and helpful things for ourselves. For instance, I did over 320 days of exercise last year, we should keep a healthy body during our busy studies. Besides, I regard sweating in sports as a relaxing activity to ease the pressure of assignments. What鈥檚 more, we should make use of our time and create a monthly plan to track assignments and tests. Whatever you do making yourself prepared and confident is always significant.

Janya Cariappa
India.

Hi! I am Janya Cariappa. I am from India and study Social Science (Human Services) and Psychology at UniSA. 大象视频Adelaide has been an integral (and fun!) part of my student experience and I hope I contribute to making student life in Adelaide more awesome!

I love Adelaide and I hope you do too! I want to make the most out of my time here. I'm usually attending more events than classes but hey, that is where I get to meet people like you! It's always a fun time for me to socialise, talk to people from different backgrounds (and have good food, hehe).

If I could give you 3 pieces of advice it would be:
1) Reach out to university support services when needed. They are helpful, approachable and kind.
2) Find clubs to be involved in. It is a great way to collaborate with others and learn along the way.
3) Do not feel overwhelmed by what others seem to be doing. I believe everyone is clueless. Do your best and enjoy your time!

Jia En Sit
Malaysia.

'Hello! I am Jia En Sit from Malaysia, you can call me Jia En or Jia. I am currently a final year Food and Nutrition Science student (Food? Yes!) who has a strong passion for improving human health, helping those in need, and empowering others.

I enjoy being kind and helpful, exploring nature and appreciating the little beauty you can find around Adelaide - a place where there are spectacular views of calming plants, fantastic beaches, and lovely hills.

If there is only one piece of advice that I would give, that is to live your life to the fullest and always believe in yourself because nothing is impossible!'

Khushi Naik
India.

Hey there! I'm Khushi and I'm from Bangalore, India. I'm currently in my second year of the Bachelor of Psychology (Counselling & Interpersonal Skills) & Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) degree here at UniSA. I enjoy dance, photography, cooking and exploring new places.

After studying online for a year, I'm so excited to be here in Adelaide and truly enjoy the city. If I'm not at university, you'll probably find me at the beach. Adelaide is an amazing city because it's got such a good balance between the city life as well as the scenic nature.

My advice to you is to explore and be involved as much as you can. Coming from a different country can be challenging but you're here because you like challenges!

Take any free time as an opportunity to step out of the house and find a place to see, or be involved in university events or clubs, that's the best way to make friends!

Henry Nguyen
Vietnam.

Hi everyone, my name is Henry originally from Vietnam and I'm studying Website Development at Tafe SA.

As an art lover, I've learned that there are so many perspectives to look at life from, and that is what makes life interesting. I chose Australia to study because of its cultural diversity. I've grown so much since I arrived here and I'm always on the lookout for opportunities to learn more. Also, a huge coffee and plant lover, who's with me?!

A piece of advice I'd give to students is that don't be shy to ask for help. And remember nothing that a good cup of coffee (or tea!) won't fix :)

Lucia Rojas
Peru.

Hello! My name is Lucia but you can call me Lu.

I鈥檓 studying a Bachelor of Design with focus in Animation and Illustration. Design has always been my passion, but I used to think it wasn鈥檛 for me because I didn鈥檛 know how to draw. Now I鈥檓 sure we can do anything we decide to do, and it is never too late to start over.

I have had the opportunity to explore different places in Australia, but I have to say Adelaide has got my heart. Besides how beautiful it is, the sunrises and the sunsets or the amazing festivals, what I love the most about this city is how welcoming and kind people are.

I know that as international students we face different challenges with the language or being away from our home country family and friends. However, you have made a great decision by choosing Adelaide for studying as it is always looking for ways to support you/us, so we can have the best experience here and achieve our goals.

Ning (Sophia) Yang
China

Hey guys! I am Sophia Yang from China. I am now studying Masters of Social Work at Flinders University.

I am enthusiastic about skating (roller skating and skating on the ice), skiing, hiking, surfing and snowboarding. I look forward to doing these sports with you if you have the same interests!

Adelaide has been voted one of the most liveable cities in the world. It is also a friendly city. You are likely to be greeted by strangers on the street at any time of day. As for leisure, Mount Lofty, Windy Point, and Glenelg are all great places to visit in your spare time.

You will love Adelaide. It is absolutely a lovely city. And while studying and living in a new place can be difficult, once you settle in there are many wonderful things waiting for you to discover. As a student ambassador, I will be delighted to share my experience of studying and living in Adelaide with you. Can鈥檛 wait to see you in person at 大象视频Adelaide activities!

Patricia Cherono Mang鈥檌ra
Kenya.

Hey hey!

My name is Patricia and I am from Kenya. I am currently studying a Masters of Project Management at The University of Adelaide.

I have been in Adelaide for a while now and I鈥檓 always in awe of its natural beauty.

I am an artist at heart and I always seek beauty in the world that surrounds us. I enjoy learning new things about myself and others and I have learnt that this is best done through fun activities. No, I don鈥檛 mean ice breakers.

One piece of advice I would give students is always remember to be kind to yourself and that in hindsight everything is much clearer.

I look forward to meeting you all and connecting with you.

Tam Vo
Vietnam.

Hello, I鈥檓 Tam. I鈥檓 from Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam and I鈥檓 studying Occupational Therapy at Flinders University.

A bit about myself, I鈥檓 a big animal lover, I have 5 dogs at home in Vietnam. I love travelling, learning new languages and making friends along the way. Cooking is my love language, and I can cook delish Asian food. I鈥檓 very compassionate and I love helping other people. I also have a genuine interest in advocating for international students.

Although I鈥檝e only been in Adelaide for a short while, this city has never failed to amaze me by its breathtaking scenery, peaceful beaches and friendly people. It鈥檚 been a long time since I truly felt at home and I can confidently say that Adelaide has given me this feeling since day one.

Moving to a new country can be a challenging and daunting experience, that鈥檚 why we, as ambassadors, always try our best to help you have the best experience in Adelaide and ensure your transition is as smooth as possible. So don鈥檛 hesitate to reach out!

My little piece of advice for international students is just to put yourself out there. 大象视频ing abroad isn鈥檛 just about studying, explore the city you鈥檙e in, take on new challenges, make friends with people from other cultures. The moment you decide to step out of your comfort zone, that鈥檚 when you actually grow and learn. Also remember, other people are always willing to help, all you need to do is ask for it ?

Yu Ting (Kelly) Ko
Hong Kong SAR.

Hello everyone, my name is Kelly and I am from Hong Kong SAR. I graduated from a high school in Adelaide last year and I am now a first year physiotherapy student at UniSA.

I am 鈥榓quaholic鈥 and I enjoy swimming very much. That鈥檚 why Glenelg is one of my favourite places in Adelaide. However, I am a pool swimmer and I have never swum at a beach. This is because I am afraid of sharks and jellyfish. But don鈥檛 worry, I am going to conquer my fear someday!

I first arrived in Adelaide when I was fifteen years old, and I can clearly remember the mixed emotions I had. It always takes courage to step out of your comfort zone and make changes. Trust me, life in Adelaide is awesome and you will soon love it. Also, 大象视频 Adelaide offers countless activities and support to international students. Don鈥檛 forget to check them out!

Yuk Ting Jenna Ng
Hong Kong SAR.

Hello! I am Jenna from Hong Kong. I am currently studying Masters of Occupational Therapy at Flinders University.

I enjoy camping, wine tasting and chilling at the beach 鈥 this probably explains why Adelaide is just the perfect city for me!

With Adelaide being such a multicultural city, I would encourage you to embrace it鈥檚 cultural diversity. Get to know friends from different cultural background, try out all the traditional dishes in Hahndorf German Village and China Town, join us in celebrating cultural festivals around the world.

If I can tell you one thing, it would be to step outside of your comfort zone and experience something new. You may be surprised by how much you can learn about the world we are living in, by just being in Adelaide!
