大象视频Adelaide has partnered with Regional Development Australia Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island, City of Victor Harbor, District Council of Yankalilla, and Alexandrina council, and Workforce Australia鈥檚 Local Jobs Program to introduce international students and graduates to prospective employers in the region.
Over 40 students and graduates from countries as diverse as Brazil to Tanzania visited Goolwa, Port Elliot and Victor Harbor Wednesday, 3 July on 大象视频Adelaide鈥檚 Fleurieu Peninsula Health & Care Careers Tour.
The Fleurieu Peninsula is facing significant skills shortages as the jobs forecast indicates a significant increase in demand for health and care professionals to support the entire state鈥檚 rapidly growing and ageing population.
Encouragingly, 大象视频Adelaide research has shown that 68 per cent of international students would like to live and work in South Australia after completing their studies - with half of those willing to explore a move to regional South Australia.
大象视频Adelaide Chief Executive Jane Johnston said this was reflected in the overwhelming interest in the tour by both students and employers.
鈥淢ore than 1900 students have registered an interest working in regional South Australia,鈥� Ms Johnston said.
鈥淎ttending site visits and meeting with organisations in the region gives students insights into the potential career pathways in the Fleurieu Peninsula as well as incredible networking opportunities.鈥�
About 17 prospective employers are involved in the tour including Resthaven, Southern Fleurieu Health Service (Victor Harbor Hospital), Your Nursing Agency, MyCare Solutions ACH, and more.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a win-win all round. International students gain employment 鈥� often in sectors with severe and entrenched skills shortages 鈥� and locals can welcome young professionals into their communities,鈥� Ms Johnston said.
